Welcome to Tar River Retrievers! I have been in the dog business specifically training dogs for over 30 years and breeding Field Bred English Cocker Spaniels and Golden Retrievers for over nine years. Our dog breeding business is dedicated to raising healthy, well-socialized, and exceptional pedigree dogs. With a passion for excellence, we meticulously select breeding pairs based on health, temperament, and breed standards to produce puppies of the highest quality. Our commitment extends beyond breeding; we prioritize the well-being of our dogs by providing them with top-notch care, nutritious diets, ample exercise, and regular health check-ups. Our controlled shooting preserve is on 700 acres of cleared, prepared land that we use to train our client's dogs and English Cocker Spaniels. We train retrievers and spaniels for waterfowl and upland training. We also train young dogs, at the ages of 6 months and up, simple commands, such as sit and stay, to get your new family member/pet going into the right direction. Our training spaces are limited to only 12 dogs at a time so get your dog in for training while there still is room.
